Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced the entire 2019 Oscar nomination list last Tuesday. “The Favourite” and “Roma” gained 10 Oscar nominations each.

Alongside “The Favourite” and “Roma,” “BlacKkKlansman,” “Black Panther,” “Bohemian Rhapsody,” “Green Book,” “A Star Is Born” and “Vice” are all up for best picture.

Bradley Cooper’s “A Star Is Born” reached eight nominations as well as Adam McKay’s “Vice.”
“Black Panther” has seven nominations, and it’s followed by “BlacKkKlansman” with six. “Bohemian Rhapsody” and “Green Book” earned five each.

Out of the movies nominated for best picture, one is a reboot, one is a Marvel movie and two are biopics. So should any of these really be considered for best picture?

Yes, they are all deserving of the nomination, but “Roma” tops the list.

It’s a foreign black and white film that is accessible on Netflix, but it’s also unlike any film on the nomination list. “Roma” unfolds feelings at an thrilling tempo.

Eyes can also be on best editing. Nominations are as follows:Barry Alexander Brown(“BlacKkKlansman,”) John Ottman (“Bohemian Rhapsody,”) Patrick J. Don Vito (“Green Book,”) Yorgos Mavropsaridis (“The Favourite,”) Hank Corwin (“Vice.”)

“Bohemian Rhapsody” accurately recreated historical events of Queen’s timeline without over dramatizing it.

From Freddie Mercury’s (played by Rami Malek) family interactions to Queen’s final concert, it all had the things you wanted to see with small detailed etched in everywhere.

Rami Malek is also nominated for lead actor alongside Christian Bale (“Vice,”) Bradley Cooper (“A Star Is Born,”) Willem Dafoe (“At Eternity’s Gate”) and Viggo Mortensen (“Green Book.”)

All nominees are respectable actors, and some have had very long careers in acting. Out of all the categories, this one is very equally matched.

Overall the 91st Academy Awards will be an exciting watch.
