After more than the majority of the school year has passed, it can be easy to justify slacking off in the fourth quarter. You may want to say it is the mean among your peers even while not having done any research. Turns out, in this case you may be absolutely right.

Senior Leo Blandina claims to have a low GPA. “I want to work hard but it’s getting hard to even come to school,” Leo said his hardest quarter was the third and that he worked “Not as hard as I could have.”

Senior Katie Knobbe estimates her GPA at about 2.5 and also believes her worst quarter was the third. “Everybody is probably going to be slacking,” said Knobbe. She says that she wants to work hard in this quarter because she had a bad academic year sophomore year.

Junior Paul Scheibal has roughly a 3.0 GPA and says he wants to put in more effort than he has in the past. “I’m putting in some effort,” Scheibal says “Never 100 percent.”

Even students with an elite level transcript have stated that the fourth quarter is not for them. Senior Henna Bazai has maintained a 4.3 GPA in her four years at EHS. “I just want to graduate” Bazai said. When asked about how low she could see her grades dropping in the fourth quarter she said “Maybe like one or two B’s.”

As the school year ends, different students have adopted different attitudes on how they will conduct themselves academically; these were just a few of them. Other students may have their own ideas on what they want from themselves. The decision you make is based on what you believe works best for you at this point in your life.
