The 2012-13 Bowling season is coming to an end, with Boys’ Sectionals on Jan. 19 and Girls’ Sectionals two weeks later.

According to senior Katy Reising, the season started at the end of October and will conclude on Feb. 9.

Sectionals will decide who qualifies to compete at the State level. According to Craig Ohlau, head coach of the EHS Bowling team, EHS  sends individuals to State almost every year. In the past, the whole team has competed.

This year’s Boys’ State Finals will be held in O’Fallon, and Girls’ will be held in Rockford.

The team practices “from 2-5 p.m. on weekdays, and a lot of individuals do their own practicing on the weekends,” says junior Ben Paolucci, who participated in last year’s Boys’ State Finals.

Junior Mary Garner says that the EHS team practices at Edison’s Entertainment Complex.

“The students have to arrange their own transportation to and from practice. It can be a hassle, but the fun of playing and competing is worth the trouble.”
