Turn Up… The Heat

Some may think staying warm is common sense, but you would be surprised at how many people over look some easy steps in the morning.  I thought of some quick and easy tricks that will keep you from getting frost bite and feeling like you live in Alaska.

1. If you drive to school, start your car five minutes before you leave. Pull your car out of the garage and turn the heat on full blast.  This will get the air flowing and by the time you get in the car, it will be nice and toasty.

2. If you end up having a little extra time in the morning or God forbid get up a few minutes early, make yourself a cup of hot chocolate or coffee.  Pour it in a travel mug and drink it on your way to school or in first hour if your teacher will allow you.  Another possibility is to stop by Quick Trip or Starbucks.

3. Bring hand warmers if you ride the bus or walk to school.  Put them in your coat pocket to keep your hands from turning purple and blue.  Wear a beanie, scarf and gloves.  These three fashion items will keep you warm while walking from the complex or even the main parking lot.  It may not seem like a long walk, but when there is a -10 degree wind chill, there is a possibility of getting frost bite.

All I can ask is for you to just be smart in these below zero temperatures. One mistake could cause you to lose a finger.
