‘Tell Me Something I Don’t Know:’ BPA Hosts Trivia Night

Saturday Oct. 8 was Business Professionals of America Trivia Night. Students and relatives gathered to compete in several rounds of trivia so that the BPA members could have help funding their trip Chicago later this year.

The students of Business BPA took over trivia this year instead of Medical Occupations and the Edwardsville Peer Influence Club. They wanted to fund their State Leadership Conference in Chicago later this year according to Senior President Michael Torneritis.

Early on however, the event had many technical difficulties. The students assigned to handle audio did not show up.

After all technical problems were taken care of, the actual trivia started. Despite initial problems getting started, the game itself was seamless.

Sophomore Pradeep Kandula “thought it went pretty well.” He said “Just hanging out with friends is always really nice.” He encouraged students to attend next year.

“IT’s not exactly perfect.” Torneritis said. However, Junior Blake Gifford was more optimistic. He said “We thought nobody would come. It’s a surprising turnout.”

After the first few categories, there was an intermission. Drawings were made for all paying contestants for gift certificates donated from local businesses  such ass Edwardsville Frozen Foods and Chava’s.

The game itself ended initially ended in a die. To break the tie three more questions were asked which resulted in another tie. After another three questions asked independently, the team #JohnAnderson (with not competitor named John Anderson present) won. They received their admission fee back.
