Four EHS student bands, Without a Face Set to Rock Tigerstock

On Friday, April 20, the Student Council will host its third annual Tigerstock concert at 6:00 pm. Four bands from EHS will be performing. C’est La Vie; Exit 12; Lindsey and Alex; and the band Love me, Leave Me were selected by students from a group of seven contestants.  The concert will also feature headlining act, Without a Face.

Tickets are on sale this week in the EHS lobby for $10 during all lunch periods and will also be sold at the door. All proceeds will go to benefit the Make-a-Wish Foundation.

Without a Face, Tigerstock’s headlining act, is a one-man rock band fromHouston,Texas.  The 19-year-old from Houston, Henry Dillard, is known for his outlandish original songs and his entirely acoustic sets.  Without a Face was selected to perform at Tigerstock after several Student Council members saw him open up for the St. Louis-native band, Ludo.

“He’s funny. He’s relatable. He’s young. He’s awkward. It’s basically everything people want in teenage entertainment,” junior Student Council member Margaret Stolte said.

Stolte said Student Council wanted to try something different than past years. In the previous concerts, all proceeds went to St. Jude Children’sResearchHospital.

“Make-a-Wish is great to support,” Stolte said. “They ask kids who are [terminally-ill] what they want to do as their last wish and they make it happen.”

Unlike the past two years, Student Council plans to hold the concert outside.  A stage will be set up on the football field if weather permits. If there is rain or severe wind, the bands will play in the auditorium.  Student Council also made the decision to hire a professional sound crew.

Student Council has been working since November to prepare for the concert. They have been making posters and videos to advertise, selling tickets and are beginning to set up in preparation for the event.  Student Council hopes to fundraise a large amount to help Make-a-Wish, and they urge all students to attend.

“Live music is great. It supports a local charity and it will be a good time,” Stolte said.
