Trump Fails to Present Perfect Front

It’s no secret the serious damage Trump has done to the United States. But his supremely negative impact on foreign policy isn’t talked about with the frequency of his other failures.

The most recent and frankly, terrifying example of this was his decision to assassinate Iranian General Qasem Soleimani. Throwing the United States into a potential repeat of the Afghanistan war for the sake of solving a problem he had no business trying to solve in the first place is sadly in a long list of failed Trumpian diplomacy.

But this painful misstep had some of the most serious and potentially damaging consequences of all.

It threatened to ignite a global conflict.

Within two days of the new year, most of the country took to the internet to discuss, many made memes and many more took bets on whether or not an actual war would break out.

Of course, both sides have made shows of strength to flex their military prowess, but took serious consideration in not attacking areas with people who could have been potentially killed or injured.

While we haven’t actually been made to ship across the world and kill in the name of freedom quite yet, the reality of these strained foreign relations have tattered the name of a once prestigious peacemaking country in which we make our home.

How are the American people meant to seem friendly and open-minded and ready to be worked with, when our leader has meddled in affairs that he criticized his predecessor for being involved in?

So at the end of the day but the beginning of a new year, these United States can only hope that this president doesn’t make a big enough misstep to tear them, and the world, apart.
