Pressure’s On

Normally when a dance rolls around, girls are rushing to find their dress and accessories while men are facing a stressor of their own—how they are going to ask their date. This year, however, the roles have switched. The announcement of an upcoming Spring Dance caused a wave of excitement, but also a wave of change. Sadie Hawkins is on the horizon.

Mixed opinions are spreading through the school about the new “girls ask guys” dance. Some girls are excited to demonstrate their creativity while others are whining about it “not being right.” My opinion? All power to the ladies.

This is your chance, my fellow Pinterest ladies. You no longer have to cry over how your crush won’t ask you to a dance in a cute way. You’ve got the power—it’s time to show them up.

It’s the perfect chance to show your significant other what a real dance invitation looks like.

If you’re moping around about being in the “male role,” I’m most likely rolling my eyes at you. Chivalry is still alive, don’t worry. But there’s nothing wrong with mixing things up a bit.

Use this as an opportunity to jump on Pinterest and think up the cutest way to ask your date to the dance. Make him blush. Every once in a while, the men deserve to sit back and be appreciated.

If you disagree, have fun cuddling with your dog and eating a tub of ice cream while everyone else takes on the dance floor. If you can’t “man up” and ask a guy, then you don’t go—simple as that. Guys don’t ask girls to this dance. They just don’t.
