Modern Music Lacks Inspiration

Every time I turn the radio to 98.1 or 107.7, it seems like the same three songs are playing over and over again. It has gotten so ridiculous that I decided to listen to the stations that my parents listen to because at least those stations have some variety.

When it comes to music, I can really listen to anything, but what I can’t handle is the repetition of some songs. Even on some XM radio stations the DJs are constantly playing the same thing.

Another thing I can’t stand is when I am listening to one station and I don’t like the song, I change it and the same thing is playing on another station. I know it’s not the radio station’s fault, but it seems like repeating songs has really gotten out of hand.

The other day I asked my dad if radio stations played the same songs over and over again when he was young. He said that there weren’t nearly as many stations so they couldn’t repeat the “hits” over and over like they do today.

Another reason to listen to older music is that the music is actually better. These artists actually write their own songs and sing in their own voices instead of being severely auto tuned with music that someone else wrote.

So next time you are in the car and are tired of listening to some Katy Perry song or “Moves like Jagger,” try changing it to 96.3 or 106.5. You may actually like it.
