“The line seemed never ending. The heat was unbearable. The amount of people seemed infinite. The only thing separating me from the stage that Wiz Khalifa would appear on was the flight of 100 stairs and the giant green lawn ahead of me.”
Even if rap isn’t your favorite genre, you’ve probably still heard of Wiz Khalifa. He performed at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater in St. Louis this past summer on Aug. 10.
The lawn tickets were only $28. The ticket prices depend on the artist and venue, but typically they range from at least $60-$100.
Sophomore Jack Rinaldi only had positive things to say about Wiz’s concert, especially the way he set the scene.
“The concert was amazing. There were tons of people, definitely over a thousand. We had to leave early so we could avoid the crowds at the end,” Rinaldi said. “The people in the audience were also really interesting to watch because they started having a dance-off. Overall, the night was pretty memorable.”
Junior Blake Deskey enjoyed himself as well. “It was definitely what I expected. The price was completely worth it. It was a great concert; Wiz did a great job,” Deskey said.
Online reviews of the Wiz Khalifa concert showed a variety of opinions. On ticketmaster.com, one person that went to Wiz’s concert at the Ten (X) Nightclub in Newport Beach, CA this past May said that he showed up late and only performed one song.
But a reviewer that attended the St. Louis concert said that it was incredible and that Wiz “killed it.”
I suppose everyone has their side of the story and everyone has their opinions; that’s what music is all about.
