EHS Baseball Starts Out Season by Meeting the Tigers

As nice as the weather has been lately has made it perfect for baseball.  The EHS Tigers baseball season is now underway after playing in Meet the Tigers.

The scrimmage was held Saturday, March 17.  It was a game where the Tigers played against themselves to show-off each player’s skills.  Some players even split time playing for the home team and then for the away team.

The final score of the scrimmage was 15-1 with the away team winning.  The away team consisted mostly of starting varsity players.

“I think our season is going to be very, very good,” said senior Devin Breihan. “We are returning a lot of guys from last year.”

At the scrimmage Breihan split time between first base, pitching and catching.

Last year the team made it to super-sectionals and they hope to make it even further this season.

With a good pitching staff and good teamwork their goal could very well happen.

“The best part of playing baseball is being a team,” said Breihan. “Everyone just seems to get along real well while we are playing.”

On Tuesday EHS won their game against Greenville 2-0.  Their next game is today at 4:30 at Sacred Heart-Griffin.

“We want everyone to come out and support us like they did last year,” said Breihan. “It made it a great season.”
