The Season 5 of American Horror Story premiered on FX on Oct. 7 and is what many students at EHS are talking about. The latest installment has crossed twitter feeds, TV commercials, and Facebook posts, and has left many excited for the show to come.

According to FX, the Emmy and Golden Globe winning series features the cast of Lady Gage, Sarah Paulson, Kathy Bates, Angela Bassett, Wes Bentley, Matt Bomer, Chloe Sevigny, Denis O’Hare, Cheyenne Jackson, Evan Peters and Finn Wittrock.

Gaga is new to the series and stars as the countess of the show. According to entertainment weekly, the Countess is afflicted with the virus of her lovers, Donovan (Matt Bomer) and Tristan (Finn Wittrock), which causes the infected to crave blood.

“Around the middle of the season, we sort of explore the origins of all that and her character and where [the virus] comes from,” said Ryan Murphy, co-creator of the series.

Actress Kathy Bates on the other hand, is no stranger to fans and will play as a woman named Iris. Peters, Paulson, Basset and Bomer will all be familiar faces.

Suprising many people, Jessica Lange, a lead on the show, will not be returning.

“I personally love Evan Peters, and Jessica Lange was my favorite, so I’m pretty upset she isn’t coming back,” senior Amanda Kerlin said.

Despite the actors lack or surplus of attendance on the upcoming production, Fans are not dismayed.

“I’ve been a huge huge fan since coven and I’m looking forward to the many different types of characters unloved in the hotel scene,” junior Beau Lewis said.

The success of the show falls directly on Murphy, and his co-creator Brad Falchuk. Murphy serves as the Showrunner, Executive Producer, Writer and Director. Falchuk is a writer and Executive producer as well.

With the help of the other Twentieth Century Fox Television producers, Time Minear, Brad Buecker, Jennifer Salt, James Wong, and Alexis Martin Woodall, the show is expected to turn out.

“I’m most excited for the new story line. I love how they switch it up every season,” senior Caitria Scarburough said.

According to Linkedin, Murphy has had control over many shows including Popular, Nip/Tuck, The New Normal, Scream Queens and Glee. Actors from these shows may pop up throughout the season, including Darren Chris.

What fans are most interested in is to find out how the writers will tie in this section as they did in the past.

“I’m really excited to see what they’re going to do with the new theme (hotel),” senior Alyssa Cervellone said. “I’m curious to see what kind of twisted plot they’ll have this season.”
