Vow Not to Choose ‘The Vow’

Hundreds of girls lined up February 10 to see “The Vow”, a story about a couple who are in a car accident resulting in the loss of Paige’s (Rachel McAdams) memory. When she awakens from her coma Paige no longer remembers her marriage to Leo (Channing Tatum).

Based on an incredible true story, the movie follows the couple through the daily routine of dealing with memory loss. Obstacle after obstacle is thrown at Leo as he tries to help Paige remember him. SPOILER ALERT: The movie is terribly predictable (even if you don’t know how it’s a true story) and ends the way you would expect it to end.

The casting is about the only thing the producers did right with this movie. Channing Tatum does a wonderful job playing the victim of heartbreak and Rachel McAdams takes us back to “Mean Girls” as she plays the typical rich girl.

The writers changed this true story so much that it almost becomes unbelievable. My bottom line is this: Do not waste $10 to see this, and wait until it comes out on DVD in a few months.
